Wondering what to wear to classes? Below you will find a brief description for attire for all classes. Should you need help locating any items or you require more information please contact me.
Creative Movement.
For the Creative Movement classes I ask that parents dress their child in something that is easy to move in, yet not too loose so that it would become dangerous. We move A LOT in the class and it makes it easier for all if your child doesn’t have to fuss or constantly adjust their clothing. Dresses, skirts or any “costume” is permitted as long as it is not too long and meets with the requirements listed above. Hair should be pinned or tied back and please no long necklaces, tiaras or anything else that might cause injury. Barefeet or ballet slippers for the feet. No socks or stockings please, the floor is slippery.
PreBallet
For the PreBallet class, girls are required to wear light pink leotards, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Short pink skirts are allowed, but above the knee length only please. Boys are required to wear black shorts, white fitted shirt, white socks and black ballet slippers. Hair must be tied back into a neat bun or secured neatly for short hair.
Adult Ballet
No uniform is required for adults, you can wear anything that you feel comfortable in, but please try avoid anything too loose or baggy. The general outline of the body needs to be visible so that proper corrections can be made. Ballet slippers are suggested but not required.
Most items can be found in the children’s section of The Bay, WalMart and other large stores. There is also a few dance stores in Ottawa (Malabar, Brio) that can supply you with everything you need.
